‍Dr. Ryznar is an environmental health expert researching the impacts of plastic pollution on human and planetary health and advocating for sensible policy and business solutions. She also serves as Professor and Associate Chair of Psychiatry at St. George's University, part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and a consulting psychiatrist at Sheppard Pratt. She completed her medical training at Harvard Medical School, her residency training at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and her postdoctoral training in medical education at Johns Hopkins. She also has a Masters degree in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford
